Volunteers are such an important part of the team at Lomond & Obsługa Advocacy Argyll. Volunteers help us extend the services we provide and to deal more promptly with referrals. They help us raise awareness of advocacy in the community and help us keep firmly rooted in the communities we serve.
Recently we have had to say goodbye to one of our Volunteers from Kintyre. Volunteers, past and present, and staff gathered at the Campbeltown Office on Tue 18th September 2018 for a tea party to say thank you & farewell to Kintyre Volunteer Eva MacDonald MBE. Eva has been a volunteer with LAAS since inception over 18 years ago and has many links within the community on a professional and voluntary basis. Although Eva is retiring from direct casework, she continues to serve on the Board of Directors and will keep in touch.
Lindsay Giffen, Volunteer Co-ordinator in Kintyre said “We are very grateful to Eva for all she has contributed to LAAS and wish her well for the future. Eva has been inspirational in her community work over the years and her continued commitment to volunteering”
Scott Rorison, LAAS Service Manager had this to say:
“As one of our longest standing volunteers, Eva has made an immense contribution to the organisation over almost two decades and we owe her a huge debt of gratitude for her loyalty, commitment and dedication.
On behalf of everyone at LAAS I thank her for her valued contribution both as a volunteer advocate and a member of our management committee.
